MMM...power.
This morning I installed a dvd ram drive and also some strip lighting. Cobalt, my computer, now has glowing blue Tron-esque racing stripes. Now I need to upgrade from the athlon 2000 to something spiffier. :)
I am already ready to go out tonight. Why do I get ready for my dates so early? I am meeting Karen, an MIT grad, product manager at The Good Life at 720 Mass Ave. It's a casual sinatra bar/pub from what I hear and I'm about as excited to go there as I am to meet her. Why? Because she and I haven't chatted much. She's getting ready for a marathon, throwing baby showers, taking care of her sick cat and tons of other things that keep her too busy to meet or talk. She's really pretty, and smart but I don't feel like we've connected yet.
More later...

With most of my laundry done, today will be a day to clean my room. I also need to dig out my sweaters and take the airconditioner out of the window. I left some midi cables and software at work and so I have to go by there at some point. I'd also like to buy the digital cable I need to hook up my audio monitors optically. I also want a cam for my computer. Intel refuses to make the drivers for this old one I have. I should donate it to some poor soul still using w98. I really want to get this mini midi keyboard I saw. It will fit wonderfully on my desk. So one of the days this weekend might devolve into a shopping trip.
On the dating front. This woman that does improv wrote my personal ad. She seems really nice, intelligent, creative and she purports to be focused as well. We are currently negotiating our first date. I'm pretty excited. She gave me this link, she's in a green shirt near the bottom. I don't know how long the link will be valid as it comes from some bulletin board.

Omg! I just picked up this pizza menu from the place I ordered from yesterday...and they deliver breakfast as well! A piping hot omelet should arrive within a half hour! This is the first time I haven't been disappointed living outside the city where I could order sushi until 1:00 a.m.

POWER!!!
Yesterday afternoon an unassuming white van with an Nstar logo pulled up. An oldish woman in an Nstar shirt came to the door and knocked. Instinctively I said to myself "people never freakin use our doorbell!" I then bopped myself on the head with the pillow I had when I realized that the doorbell wouldn't work! (dumbass) She asked if the breakers were off and I nodded. She said she'd come tell me when it was okay to power up again. There was some pounding from the side of the house. She came back and bid me a nice day. I put the huge ass fuse back in the box. The heat was the first obvious thing to turn on. The blower motor labored and pumped a burning musty dusty stink throughout the house. mmm....power. I gratuitously turned on lots of lights and practically danced through the house. I powered up my computer and checked email, surfed a few sites and then began making music! This lasted well into the night and then I played a few online games, and then worked on music, then surfed some free porn, then made more music. I didn't stop using electricity until about three in the morning.
Today...is laundry day.

No power, I feel amish.
This morning was very cold. I had trouble motivating to get out of bed.
Last night there was an Nstar message hanging on our door. Apparently they tried to hook up our power but since the circuit breaker wasn't off they had to postpone until we rectified the situation. I suspect that someone told Todd this but "he didn't think they'd be there that soon." and so he didn't intercept. Without hard evidence I really can't throw a fit. Besides, with this cold I am in no condition to flip out on someone. The most I can do right now is look dreary, sniff, and hack on them. I doubt this is sufficient motivation for action though I suppose I could consider certain phlegm strategies.
I found a wired phone from an ex girlfriend in my boxes of stuff last night and hooked it up. It's an ironically old lady/low tech looking thing. Definitely nothing a straight bachelor like myself should own. I think I keep it as a token of an old relationship more than just being too lazy to get rid of it. I don't seem to collect pictures of people...I collect things they owned. I still have a lamp from the first girlfriend I lived with.
This morning I called the power company and asked them to come out again. Todd pulled the breaker out last night so they should be able to safely power us up today. TFG!

Soul weary from a lack of power.
I'm getting a cold and it really sucks.
I borrowed a pair of socks from Todd as all of mine are now dirty. I need to buy more socks anyway.
At least the bill is showing up as paid on their computer system. Now we just need to make the appointment to get power turned back on. I may take a few days off when we get power to make music and just relax and get chores done.
I'd like to go on a singles cruise but I just don't see it happening soon. I want to fix up my car some more.
I feel really disassociated at work. We are in a transitional phase and things are lacking focus.
I'm glad it's not my birthday today.

Happy Birthday to Me.
Still no power. I made it through the weekend.
I'm on my last pair of clean socks and my second to the last pair of underwear.
I actually came into the office most of the weekend but didn't blog.
Sunday I hung out with Chris and Chris. We watched an old 1980 show that lasted for five episodes.
It's the last variety show. It features two japanese women who were huge stars in Japan. It features a comedian who in his wildest dreams is only mildly funny. It has a cavalcade of dying careers that were apparently extorted into guest appearances.
The show:
Pink Lady and Jeff
